Trick-or-Treat Lab with Richelle

What we’ll be making: Block-Printed Trick-or-Treat Loot Bags and Halloween Lanterns

Get ready for Halloween in this fun, hands-on workshop combining block printing, collage and plenty of spooky creativity!

Children will design their own reusable trick-or-treat loot bag using block-printing techniques. They’ll experiment with Halloween-inspired shapes, colour, pattern and repetition to create an individual design for collecting their Halloween lollies. Their finished bag can be brought out and enjoyed for many Halloweens to come.

Children will also create a Halloween lantern using colourful collage materials, silhouettes and glass jars. The lantern can be displayed on the letterbox as a spooky decoration or used to let trick-or-treaters know that their house is joining in the Halloween fun.

There will be plenty of room for individual creativity as children choose their own colours, patterns and Halloween details. Each trick-or-treat bag and lantern will be completely unique!

All materials and tools are provided, including calico tote bags, block-printing materials, fabric paint and colourful lantern materials.

This workshop is perfect for children who love Halloween, creative design and making decorations they can use at home. They’ll explore block printing and collage while creating two practical Halloween projects to take home.

Parents are welcome to stay and observe, or to drop off children aged five and over. If you are dropping your child off, a sign-in sheet and consent waiver will be provided for a parent or guardian to complete at the beginning of the class. We are conveniently located next to Patisserie Bleu and John Connell Reserve Playground.
