What we’ll be making: 3D Floral Canvases

Create a colourful floral artwork that pops right off the canvas! Children will use lightweight air-dry foam clay to create their own flowers, petals and decorative details on a miniature canvas.

Rather than creating a flat painting, children will build up their artwork using shaped pieces of clay while exploring texture, form, layering and three-dimensional design. They’ll learn how simple shapes can be combined to make petals and flowers before arranging them across their canvas.

There will be plenty of room for individual creativity as children choose their own colours and experiment with different flower shapes, sizes and arrangements. Every floral canvas will be completely unique!

Working with clay encourages children to explore materials through touch and develop their own ideas as they build their artwork. They’ll also discover how changing the size, shape and placement of each piece can transform the overall composition.

All materials and tools are provided, including miniature canvases, colourful air-dry foam clay and decorative materials.

This workshop is perfect for children who love flowers, colour and hands-on creative making. Every child will leave with a textured floral canvas ready to dry and display at home.

Parents are welcome to stay and observe, or to drop off children aged five and over. If you are dropping your child off, a sign-in sheet and consent waiver will be provided for a parent or guardian to complete at the beginning of the class. We are conveniently located next to Patisserie Bleu and John Connell Reserve Playground.
