Mermaid Magic with Natalie

What we’ll be making: Mermaid Necklaces and Air-Dry Clay Mermaids

Join us for a fun mermaid-inspired workshop filled with jewellery making and clay. Children will design and create their own mermaid necklace using colourful beads and scallop shells, before hand-building a beautiful mermaid from air-dry clay.

Students will choose from an assortment of beads, shells and embellishments, experimenting with colour combinations and arranging the elements to create a necklace they can take home and wear.

Children will then be introduced to the fundamentals of hand-building with clay as they shape, join and add details to their own mermaid sculpture. They’ll explore texture, form and decorative techniques to create flowing hair, shimmering tails and imaginative underwater-inspired details.

There will be plenty of room for individual creativity as children choose their own colours, beads, textures and embellishments. Every necklace and mermaid will be completely unique!

All materials and tools are provided, including air-dry clay, colourful beads, scallop shells, necklace components and decorative materials.

This workshop is perfect for children who love mermaids, jewellery, imaginative design and hands-on creative making—and are excited to learn new skills while creating two magical treasures to take home.
