Stitch, sew, and create your very own cuddly sensory companion in this fun and beginner-friendly sewing workshop, where children will design and hand sew an adorable star-shaped fidget friend filled with rice for comforting sensory play.

Using colourful fabric, thread, buttons, and soft stuffing materials, children will learn the fundamentals of hand sewing as they carefully stitch together their very own plush star. Along the way, young makers will be introduced to simple sewing techniques including basic construction methods, and decorative blanket stitching around the edges of their creation. Children will also hand sew on sweet little details such as eyes, buttons, and embellishments to give their fidget friend its own unique personality.

Filled with rice for a satisfying sensory feel and gentle weight, these handmade star companions are designed to be squishy, tactile, calming, and comforting to hold, making them wonderful little fidget toys for quiet moments, relaxation, or imaginative play.
