What to bring: Water bottle
What we’ll be making: Hand-sewn Easter Egg plushies inspired by Squishmallows
In this seasonal workshop, children will design and hand sew their own Easter Egg plushie — a huggable creation shaped like a festive egg and brought to life with personality and colour. From choosing fabric combinations to adding cute details, each child will create a unique soft toy to treasure.
Guided step by step, students will learn foundational hand sewing techniques in a clear and confidence-building way. They’ll practise threading a needle, tying secure knots, sewing simple blanket stitches, and safely stuffing and closing their plushie. Along the way, we’ll talk about how stitches work, how fabric holds together, and why neat, steady sewing makes all the difference.
All materials are provided, including pre-cut soft fabrics, child-friendly needles, embroidery thread, and plush filling — so every child will leave with a finished plushie ready for cuddles.
Hand sewing is more than a craft — it’s a life skill. Working with needle and thread strengthens fine motor control, hand–eye coordination, and focus. It teaches patience, problem-solving, and resilience. Sewing also builds independence — children gain the confidence of knowing they can repair, create, and construct with their own hands.
Most importantly, they experience the deep satisfaction of turning flat fabric into something three-dimensional, soft, and completely their own.
This workshop is perfect for children who love tactile projects, enjoy design, and are ready to learn a practical creative skill in a calm, supportive studio setting.
Please note - real sewing needles are used in this class, but we have band-aids on hand!
