What we’ll be making: Needle-Felted Earrings

Discover the fun of jewellery making in this creative workshop combining needle felting with simple jewellery-making techniques. Children will design and create a unique pair of earrings to take home and wear.

Children will choose from an assortment of colourful wool fibres, beads and stencils, experimenting with different colour combinations and planning designs ranging from flowers to mushrooms.

Using needle-felting techniques, children will learn how loose wool fibres can be shaped and transformed into small decorative pieces using stencils. They’ll then be introduced to basic jewellery-making techniques as they assemble their designs and turn their felted creations into finished earrings.

There will be plenty of room for individual creativity as children choose their own colours, shapes, beads and embellishments. Every pair will be completely unique!

All materials and tools are provided, including colourful wool fibres, beads and jewellery-making components.

This workshop is perfect for children who enjoy jewellery, tiny details, colour and creative making. They’ll learn new skills while creating something special they can take home and wear.

Please note: Needle-felting needles are very sharp and will be used throughout this workshop. Children will receive clear safety instructions and will be closely supervised while using the needles. Finger guards will also be available for children who would like additional protection while felting.

Parents are welcome to stay and observe, or to drop off children aged seven and over. If you are dropping your child off, a sign-in sheet and consent waiver will be provided for a parent or guardian to complete at the beginning of the class. We are conveniently located next to Patisserie Bleu and John Connell Reserve Playground.
