Settle in for a whole morning of Christmas making! Our Christmas Printmaking Workshop is an extra-special four-hour drop-and-go session for children aged 5–11, giving young artists twice the time of our usual holiday workshops to create, explore and enjoy the studio.
For this extended session, Richelle and Sage will each host their own Christmas printmaking experience, with children rotating between the two throughout the morning.

Printed Santa Sacks with Richelle
Children will join Richelle to design and print their very own festive Santa sacks. They’ll explore different printmaking techniques, including carving, stamping and layering, before creating a special sack ready to be filled with Christmas surprises. Each child will have the opportunity to develop their own designs and make something completely unique. -
Printed Christmas Cards and Wrapping Paper with Sage
Over at Sage’s table, children will create a collection of handmade Christmas cards and festive wrapping paper. They’ll experiment with stamps, patterns, textures and repeated prints while learning how simple shapes and images can be combined to create beautiful designs for sharing with family and friends.
With four whole hours in the studio, there’s no need to rush. Between the two guided printmaking projects, children will have time to experiment with different printing techniques, exploring carving, stamping, layering and mark-making. They’ll be encouraged to test ideas, try different materials and see where their creativity takes them. They’ll also have time to explore our Tinker Corner, fossicking through materials and creating independently.
We’ll stop for a relaxed morning tea break together too, giving everyone a chance to recharge before diving back into making. Please pack a water bottle and morning tea lunchbox for your child.
This is a lovely opportunity for children who really love to make to spend an extended morning immersed in the studio — learning new printmaking techniques, working alongside two of our artists and having plenty of space for both guided projects and completely open-ended creativity.
Four hours. Two festive printmaking projects. Two artists. And a whole morning to print, experiment and create.
