What we’ll be making: Ceramic Fairy Houses
Join us for a magical clay workshop where children will create their own ceramic fairy house using red clay.
Children will be introduced to the fundamentals of ceramic hand-building as they shape, join and add details to their fairy houses. They’ll explore texture, form and decorative techniques to create tiny doors, windows, rooftops and other whimsical details, including time to colour their ceramic fairy house.
There will be plenty of room for individual creativity as children design a special home for their imaginary fairy friends. Each fairy house will be completely unique!
All materials and tools are provided. The cost of the workshop also includes kiln firing. The turnaround time for receiving completed fairy houses is approximately six weeks after the workshop.
Once fired, the fairy houses can be placed in the garden or kept indoors and used as a lantern with a small battery-operated candle.
This workshop is perfect for children who love fairies, imaginative design and hands-on creative making. They’ll learn new ceramic skills while creating a beautiful fairy house to treasure.
Parents are welcome to stay and observe, or to drop off children aged five and over. If you are dropping your child off, a sign-in sheet and consent waiver will be provided for a parent or guardian to complete at the beginning of the class. We are conveniently located next to Patisserie Bleu and John Connell Reserve Playground.
