What we’ll be making: Hand-built clay fairy houses that will be kiln fired

Step into a world of imagination and wonder in this enchanting ceramic workshop, where children become tiny architects for fairy folk! Using rich red clay — wonderfully sturdy and perfect for little hands — young makers will discover the magical fundamentals of ceramic hand-building as they design and create their very own fairy house.

Along the way, children will learn valuable creative skills including slab-building, sculpting, and hand-modelling techniques. As they shape doors, windows, rooftops, and whimsical details, they’ll also be developing patience, problem-solving, fine motor skills, and confidence in their artistic ideas — all through the joy of hands-on making.

Once their fairy dwellings are complete, children will paint their creations with colourful glazes, bringing each tiny home to life with personality and charm. Their pieces will then be carefully dried and kiln-fired, transforming the clay into lasting ceramic treasures with a beautiful matte finish. Approximately six weeks later, families will be invited to collect a truly special keepsake — a handmade reminder of childhood imagination, creativity, and pride that can be cherished for years to come.
