What we’ll be making: Felted bangle and beaded suncatcher

In this session we’ll be making two special pieces to take home – a soft felted bangle and a sparkling beaded suncatcher.

Children will be introduced to wet felting, using warm soapy water and gentle rolling to turn loose wool fibres into a strong, colourful felt that forms a unique bangle. They’ll choose their own colour combinations and watch the fibres slowly bind together – it’s a beautiful, sensory process that feels a bit like magic.

Once the bangles are drying, we’ll move on to designing beaded suncatchers. Children will select beads, experiment with simple colour patterns, and carefully thread their design before finishing with a hanging loop ready for a sunny window.

All tools and materials are provided, and every child will head home with a finished felt bangle and a light-catching beaded piece.

This workshop is calm, tactile, and very satisfying – perfect for children who enjoy working with their hands, love jewellery and colour, and are ready to try something a little different.
