After School Sewing Club 

Term 1 | 8-Week Course | Week 2 (Mon 9th Feb) – Week 9 (Mon 30th Mar)

Welcome to After School Sewing, a fun and creative space where young makers aged 7 and up can journey through the basics of hand stitching and create unique handmade pieces. 

Each project runs over two weeks, giving children time to practice stitches, problem-solve, and finish their creations with pride. Our projects are designed to build practical skills, nurture patience, and spark creativity, all while having fun and making friends.

Whether your child has never threaded a needle before or already loves to make things, they’ll be warmly welcomed. 

Parents are invited to drop and go, or stay and relax in our cosy studio while your child creates.

What We’ll Be Creating Week by Week

Week 2 & 3: Creating Pocket Pals 
We begin with a fun, lighthearted project, learning simple stitches such as a blanket stitch and simple embroidery techniques, while creating a pocket-sized cat or owl. 

Week 4 & 5: Sew a Fidget Fish 

Children will choose a felt colour and cut out a fish shape,  learn to sew a ladder stitch and fill the fish full of beads to create a new fidgeting underwater friend. 

Week 6 & 7 –  Design a mini coin purse 

Children will learn to use sewing patterns and how to measure fabric accurately. They will then be guided to sew a purse of their own and learn how to attach buttons. 

Week 8 & 9 –  Stitch together a Bunny plush 
Our final project will be sewing together a gorgeous little bunny; children will have the opportunity to personalise their embroidered faces and learn how to stuff and sew in order to bring a hopping bunny to life. 


Parents are welcome to drop and go or stay and wait in the studio.

If dropping off, a duty-of-care waiver will be provided and must be signed prior to the start of the session.
