Please note, Term 2 is an eleven week term. Pottery Club is an 8 week program and will run every Friday afternoon from Week 2 to Week 9.

Welcome to After School Pottery Club, a hands-on creative space where young artists aged 5 to 11 can explore the world of clay and learn the fundamentals of ceramic hand building.

In this class, children will develop foundational pottery skills while creating a range of fun and imaginative projects. Each week introduces a new idea and technique, allowing children to build confidence, express themselves, and enjoy the tactile experience of working with clay. Children will also have the opportunity to glaze their work.

The cost of this class includes kiln firing and clear glazing by our staff. Artwork is fisrt bisque fired and then clear glazed by our staff before being glaze fired a second time.

Parents are invited to drop and go for ages 5+, or stay and relax in our cosy studio while your child creates.

What We’ll Be Creating – Week by Week

Week 2 – Babycino Mugs

Children will design and create their own small ceramic mugs, perfect for little hands, learning how to shape and join clay. Mugs will be functional and dishwasher safe once fired.

Week 3 – Pinch Pot Fish

Using pinch pot techniques, children will sculpt playful fish, exploring texture and form.

Week 4 – Ceramic Noughts and Crosses

Children will create a fun, functional game set, designing both the board and pieces.

Week 5 – Bird Nests

Inspired by nature, children will build textured nests and add small eggs or decorative elements.

Week 6 – Fairy/Gnome Doors

A magical project where children design whimsical doors, perfect for fairy gardens or imaginative play.

Week 7 – Ceramic Self Portraits

Children will create unique clay self-portraits, exploring facial features and expression in 3D.

Weeks 8 & 9 – Glazing

Students will learn glazing techniques to add colour and finish to their creations, bringing their pieces to life.
